Want a more organized home without spending a fortune? It doesn’t take a major remodel to make some clever storage and organization improvements to your home. There are some very creative folks out there coming up with lots of DIY organization ideas, and here are just a few that I am planning on implementing in my own home:

This is one area of my home that really needs some help. All those cleaning products, rubber gloves, sponges – you get the picture! Well, this kitchen-sink-organization idea from At Home with Nikki is the perfect answer, and it’s affordable, too. This stack-able 2-tier sliding basket will keep your cleaning products organized and all in one place, while looking attractive and modern.

For those of us without a large walk-in pantry, organizing a small pantry cupboard or closet can prove to be a challenge. There are clever organization ideas out there, however, that will make your life a whole lot easier. There are wire baskets for all those soup cans, bins for sauce mixes, and I especially love this ingenious organization tip from Fennell Seeds to get half-full bags of chips off of the shelves and onto untapped wall storage, using hanging clips.

Since the kitchen tends to be the hub of the house, the place where papers, bills, schoolwork, and all sorts of miscellaneous “stuff” ends up landing, creating an organized space in the kitchen makes sense. It doesn’t need to be elaborate or take up a lot of valuable counter space, as this clever “Kitchen Command Center” idea from Lovely Crafty Home shows us.
